Quaife was, and is, a British manufacturer of precision mechanical parts, but in the late 90's the company wanted to showcase their top quality drivetrains and race transmissions by building a full race car to compete in recently founded FIA GT Championship.
Coupled with a 6-speed sequential transmission, the highly technological system of differentials delivered the power to all four wheels, making it a rarity in the scene. Provinding said power was a 6.0L, 16-valve Ford V8 placed in the middle of a tubular spaceframe chassis, directly driving the transmission/transfer box combination mounted in the very center.
Unfortunately, the complexty of the machine made it unreliable, and the weight of the 4wd system made the performance gains very limited.
With Quaife being a small team, and their budget being relatively small compared to that of the big names on the grid, the car never obtained any significant success on track.
