Throughout its 80-year history, Nissan has been active in motor racing. She especially excelled in GT class body racing, creating a unique car image combining excellent racing performance and convenience in everyday use. Your attention is invited to the concept car of a new generation, in which Nissan embodied its views on the future of this class: NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo.
The overall design proposed by London-based Nissan Design Europe incorporated the rich British tradition of body racing. The distinctive silhouette of the car is underlined by bold details and carefully thought-out technical solutions that make up the very essence of Nissan. When looking at the concept car, wide wings of an unusual shape are striking, surrounding the frame, inside of which there is a salon with layout 2 + 2.
Smooth contours of the front wings and the strict geometry of the rear complement each other successfully. The air flow that hits the car in front is cut in two and is directed inside the body on carefully calculated routes. Thus, the flow from the front air intakes runs along the inside of the wheels, and then with increased speed, it is pulled out from the outlet under the front wing. This can significantly reduce drag at high speeds. The rear wings, in turn, provide the backflow of air, reducing the turbulence of the flow behind the machine. As you can see, despite the somewhat angular forms, in terms of aerodynamics, the concept car is not inferior to the racing prototypes of the Le Mans.
Active rear wing rises and falls, depending on the speed. When it reaches 300 km / h, it creates more than 400 kg of aerodynamic force applied directly to the differential block. Additional downforce is provided by the underpressure of the air under the bottom, created by a special bend of the bottom, which leads away the air under the front fenders, and the rear diffuser. The design of the car a lot of other similar solutions that improve handling at high speeds.
