Instead of the stock Ruf-built 4.5L V8 this edit has a tuned version of the 918's 4.6L V8 which is much lighter (135 vs 200kg) and more powerful albeit a bit less torqie at lower rpm.
Stock Ruf 4.5L V8 32v
550hp/8500 500Nm/5400
Stock 918's 4.6 V8 32v
608hp/8700 540Nm/6700
4.6 V8 32v after tuning:
642hp/8900 582Nm/6200
Other specs:
7-speed manual (7th is overdrive)
Vmax: 340km/h
curbweight: 1270kg (WD: 44/56)
DF: around 200kg @ 340km/h
This edit has a manual 7-speed but 7th is meant mainly for lowering revs at lengthy casual drives. Vmax is reached in 6th.
The 2011 RGT-8 is based on the 997 911.
Powered by a 4.5-liter V8 engine that has been tuned to deliver 550bhp at 8500rpm and 500Nm of torque at 5400rpm with its power sent through a 6-speed gearbox with shortened gear shift movement to the rear axle, the RGT-8 is, in one word, spectacular.
Completing RUFs new tuning kit are special front fenders, nose and dashboard components, as well as a set of specially-designed 19-inch RUF forged alloy wheels. The styling was inspired by the 550 Coupe with which Paul Frere, the Belgian race driver, won the best of class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1953
